Make an authentic ancestral hoop drum with Kevin Village Stone (Kiwamura). You will learn the spiritual principles and traditions of the ancestral drum as well as embark on a deep journey of personal healing while you make your drum.
All materials will be provided which include a handmade willow hoop, rawhide (buffalo, elk, deer, depending on availability), and printed handout with traditional drumming songs, care, and meditation/journeying exercises. For many, the making of an ancestral drum becomes a pivotal point in the spiritual walk.
Pre-register (required) at Earth Touch Wellness Center by Aug 12th, 2008. Workshop is on Aug 23rd which promptly begins at 11am and ends around 6pm with a snack break in the middle. The drums will be smudged and blessed at the end of the workshop and, time permitting, Kevin will teach some drumming songs.
